And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, “Permit the children to come to Me; do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all. And He took them in His arms and began blessing them, laying His hands on them.          Mark 10:13-16

Children's church during our worship service!

* Who is invited: All children 4 years old through 5th grade.
*When:  Your child may be dropped off at 10:20am and picked up following the worship service.
* Where: The old social room of the church.

Our goal: To have a church service just for the children on a level they can embrace and understand. Learning that Jesus knows them, loves them, and wants to have a relationship with them. The offering collected during childrens' church will go to 2 Cents a meal to feed children who are hungry. On the last Sunday of each month, the children will sit in "big church" prior to the sermon, and take part in the service sharing what they have learned that month.

Please pray for this ministry, the children, and the adults as we follow where Jesus is leading us.

Happy Birthday to the Church!

On Sunday, May 28, 2023, the children's church program will be singing in the worship service and is inviting the congregation to join them for a birthday party for the church in the mixing area following the worship service.
The pictures below are from previous Pentecost celebrations.

The Children's Church program of the Uniontown Church of the Brethren learned about Pentecost -The birthday of the church. They learned that even though we can not see the Holy Spirit, He is always with us. They made tongues of fire by blowing paint with a straw; even though they could not see the air, they knew that it was there moving the paint. Our lesson taught us that just like a balloon needs filled with air to become what it is intended to be, we need the Holy spirit to fill us so we can be all that God intended us to be. We finished our Pentecost lesson with a birthday party celebration for the church.

We thank You, God, for sending Your Holy Spirit. We thank You for breathing life into the church and we thank You for giving Your Holy Spirit to all who believe in Jesus. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

During Lent, the Children's Church program has talked about Jesus' love for us, His miracles, His examples for us, and His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. They learned that when Jesus washed the disciples feet, it was His example to them and to us to be humble and to have a heart to love and serve others. The children got to participate in feet washing as part of Church of the Brethren tradition.

An Easter Party was held on March 21 following worship for all children up to and including 5th grade. Seven children were treated to a light lunch, story time, games, and special take home gift. The children listened and participated in a story about the the love that Jesus has for us all and the sacrifice that He made on our behalf. All of the children had a wonderful time!
